Water resistant Kiwocol 227 diazophotoemulsion




Kiwocol 227 is used to make high-quality stencil forms that are resistant to water-based printing media and plastisol inks. The main field of application of this emulsion is printing on textiles and ceramics.

Stencils made with Kiwocol 227 enable large runs to be made when printing with water-based inks without subsequent curing. Under extreme conditions, the stencil can additionally pass through the durability of the seal or on whether the stencil is subsequently regenerated, the appropriate hardener KIWOSET K-T should be selected; with special requirements other hardeners can be used. Sensitization. Diazo number 3. For coating photographic emulsions to fill a bottle with powder sensitizer for ½ of the volume (the risk) Shake well and pour the resulting solution into a jar with photo emulsion. You then need to re-fill the bottle with water on the risk, once again shake well and pour the water back into the jar with photo emulsion. After that, the emulsion must be mixed thoroughly and leave for 30-40 minutes, after which emulsion is ready.

Degreasing. For best results, before applying the emulsion screen mesh should be cleaned and degreased. To do this, use a degreasing handicraft series PREGAN (A9 or NT9) or integrated tool KIWO MESH X-CEL. For automatic cleaning systems are recommended in a series of concentrates KIWOCLEAN (see separate technical specifications). After thorough washing with water and drying nets ready for applying emulsion.

APPLICATION. Stencil production begins, as a rule, with the application of a photo emulsion from the printing side in order to fill the grid cells. Only then layers are applied on the side of the squeegee, for example, 2-1, 2-2, 2-3 ... It is recommended to use the automatic installation for applying the KIWOMAT photo emulsion, since it can be used to obtain an absolutely uniform and reproducible layer of copy coating.

DRY. The stencil should be thoroughly dried before exposure to obtain the highest ink resistance. Drying should preferably be carried out in a dust-free drying chamber in the presence of ventilation at a temperature in the range of 35-40°C.

Exposure. Stencil is created by curing waste area under UV - radiation. Requires a source of exposure to actinic blue light with a wavelength in the range 350 - 420 nm. The optimal source of such light are metal (metal halide) bulbs.

Because of the many variables that affect the exposure time, the absolute value can not be specified. Optimal results can be achieved only through the exposure step and selection time using the calculator display KIWO ExpoSheck. To achieve the highest resistance stencil, you should choose the maximum exposure time at which the fine detail reproduction.

Retouched. To fix the edges of the stencil and filling is recommended to use products in a series of KIWOFILLER. When printing water based paints should be applied waterproof retouching.

Flaking. Kiwocol 227 can be easily removed from the grid by product line for the wash emulsion PREGASOL. If the flaking emulsion on the grid remain contamination (paint residues or so-called "double image"), they can be removed with products PREGAN for final processing of the grid. Types of pollution can vary greatly, so it is recommended to carry out their own tests.

COLOR. Before sensitization: purple; after sensitization: brown-purple.

Viscosity. About 9000 mPas

Sensitization before 12 months (20-25 ° C). Once sensitized about 6 weeks (20-25 ° C). Protect from frost!

Grid with pre-applied emulsion layer of about 4 weeks (at 20-25 ° C in complete darkness).

When long storage stencil emulsion layer can absorb moisture from the environment, so it is recommended to re-exposure to drying.
